Some Reviews

Great course, I used the Udemy version which does not have the practice labs (but is a lot cheaper), If you are a beginner or have limited Linux experience I’d used the Linux Academy version which includes the labs.

The Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator Prep course covers everything for RHCSA. The teacher speaks really fast though, so I usually watch the video many times. The main drawback is about Hand-On-Labs from Linux Academy. It’s not free, so you have to use KVM or Virtualbox to practice the commands and implement the configuration yourself. If you want to connect to NFS or LDAP as clients, you have to set up the NFS server and LDAP server first, which is part of RHCE.

Until this point I can really recommend this course. I already got experience in RHEL but never really learned Linux from scratch, so this course gives you some really good basics, e.g. for grep, how to understand man pages (I really never knew something about the 3 dots lol). As mentioned in the introduction you will def need some basic experience in Linux before taking this course.

Yes, I prefer this person’s voice to the Sander van Vugt version on Safari.

The only downside is, he keeps referring to the Linux academy lab. I checked out that website but I don’t think that that is free. However the narrator keeps referring to it as if it is an integral part of this course. Seems that this course was not originally made for udemy.

Retty good RHCSA course, fairly comprehensive. Could have been more info about setting up our own personal testing environment on our own hardware for those who aren’t as familiar with that setup.
